I also got off my rear and started a Flickr account, since I'm kinda into photography now. This is the link to my photostream. Once I dig through my favorites (namely, the ones that look a little more like art) I'll start posting them. For now, content yourself with a random picture of pots taken in Okinawa:

First Post
I finally got off my rear and started a blog.
What is an unstable manifold? Something you run into after a year of working with nonlinear partial differential equations. And I'm pretty sure it's exclusive to glaciology. So there are probably about one or two people who will read this and recognize the title. If you don't, doesn't it sound like something that Geordi La Forge would correct by reversing the polarity on the dilithium matrix?
Of course, as a budding academian I would be remiss if I did not properly cite the origin of my blog's name, so:
Hindmarsh, R.C.A. and A.J. Payne (1996), “Time-step limits for stable solutions of the ice-sheet equation”, Ann. Glaciol. 23, p.74-85.
